Your adventure at 7 Tide is just beginning, but the journey that has materialized as 7 Tide – Boston’s freshest, most innovative design experience – actually started more than a decade ago.

Tom Clarke, CEO of Clarke, New England’s distributor of Sub-Zero, Wolf, ASKO and several other fine appliance brands, has been dreaming of a Boston showroom since he opened his Sub-Zero & Wolf Showrooms and Test Kitchens in Milford, Massachusetts and South Norwalk, Connecticut more than ten years ago. When Tom and his son, Sean, now president of the appliance distribution leader, met the family who owns A.W. Hastings, the New England and New York distributor for Marvin Windows and Doors, during an event for the design trade, magic happened.

The two companies recognized the synergy between their businesses. Family-owned, American-made products, industry-leading brands, innovative business models, similar customers and the list went on. During months of meetings and hundreds of conversations, the Clarkes realized that not only was the building they had just purchased at 7 Tide Street in Boston a great move, but the burgeoning partnership with Marvin would make their vision of creating a singular design destination an even more exciting reality.

On October 28, 2014, Sean Clarke shared the stage with A.W. Hastings’ Executive Vice President and COO Keenan Burns, as they announced their plans for 7 Tide during the ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX).

Over the past 18 months, the two companies have worked diligently to not only design and construct a unique building, but also create an unparalleled experience for homeowners and the design community. They have thought hard about the process a homeowner goes through from dreaming to planning to reality of a custom home or remodeled space. They have engineered experiences, leveraging the expertise of their respective teams and never-before-seen technology, to create a one-of-a-kind experience that offers a way for the homeowner (and their designers) to be enveloped in the possibilities available for a new room, addition or home.

While the 7 Tide design and construction conversations have surfaced where the two companies are different, it has also surfaced their common commitment to their respective dealer networks. Sub-Zero, Wolf and Marvin products are all sold through carefully curated authorized dealer networks throughout the region. And that is the key to the 7 Tide magic: nobody is selling Sub-Zero, Wolf or Marvin products. The 7 Tide experience is one of discovery, having questions answered, envisioning and actually experiencing how these brands can enhance your design. In the end, if certain products meet your vision and create a passion for your new space, you will be offered product specifications and contacts for authorized dealers in your area where your purchase can be finalized.

This entire building has truly been conceived to be yours, by design. At 7 Tide, the Sub-Zero, Wolf and Marvin teams don’t expect you to make a commitment. They just want you to fall in love. And they are working very hard to help you do just that.
